Hot runner simulations can be fully automated in the StrömungsRaum® – and this without making changes to the existing design methodology. Only the production of the finally tested hot runner is required, as countless iteration loops can be omitted in practice. The results are provided to you in a clear report, which vividly shows where potential overshooting or undershooting of the process window might occur. This allows targeted optimizations through adjustments to the geometry. A complete simulation including all process steps takes an average of only about 1.5 hours.
Solution Approach
With the StrömungsRaum® for hot runners, we simulate your hot runner manifold exactly as you design it. Your design data is automatically recognized by our system and classified into the categories of hot runner manifold block, heating wires, sensors, spacers, nozzles, and flange. The placement of sensors enables automatic assignment of heating wires to ensure precise temperature control (PID) that regulates the temperature input of the heating wires. Simultaneously, heat is efficiently dissipated through spacers and other connections to the cooler tooling. The result is a stable state that maps the temperatures in the hot runner manifold block as well as in the melt channel and directly categorizes it according to your process window as "acceptable" or "not acceptable".
