Smart e-factory: an important step towards energy efficiency and sustainability

We are proud to announce that we are part of the “AI Beacons for Environment, Climate, Nature, and Resources” grant program, supported by the Ministry of the Environment. This exciting opportunity opens up new possibilities for us to contribute to energy and resource efficiency.

Today marked the kick-off event for our research project “Smart-E-Factory” in Lemgo, which was attended by our CEO, Tobias Herken, in person. But what exactly is behind the Smart-E-Factory?

Our goal with this project is to develop proven and transferable AI solutions that can make production facilities more energy-efficient, thus reducing CO2 emissions. Often, unnecessary emissions result from inefficient process design and non-optimized energy management. Therefore, our focus is on optimizing the production process and the interface with the energy management system.

We are thrilled to be part of this promising project in collaboration with the Fraunhofer Institute in Lemgo, the Institute for Energy Research (iFE), the Ostwestfalen-Lippe University of Applied Sciences (TH OWL), and Hadi Plast GmbH. Over the next three years, we will conduct research on AI technologies to develop a resource-efficient and energetically optimized factory. We are supported in this endeavor by other associated partners such as Weidmüller Deutschland, the Efficiency Agency NRW, Stadtwerke Lemgo GmbH, and Lenze.

This research project offers us an exciting opportunity to put our expertise and commitment to sustainability into practice. We firmly believe that innovation and technology are crucial tools for making our production facilities more environmentally friendly and having a positive impact on climate change.

We would like to express our gratitude to the Ministry of the Environment for its support and look forward to the upcoming steps in this exciting project. Stay tuned for our progress!

Together, we can create a greener future and pave the way towards energy efficiency and sustainability!
